I love When books are set in a world deeply affected by the past of which little or nothing is known by the reader. Then bits and pieces are revealed weaving a complex story that explores unlikely alliances, vendettas and affairs. When motives are not understood until much later and small nuggets of clues are left for readers to puzzle out if they are clever enough. I like books that keep me guessing and don’t just shove a story down my throat. I love when the moral of the story is that ‘shit happens and then you die’. I feel that there are very few authors who accomplish this but congrats to George R. R. Martin, first of his name for being one of those few. It is known that though his books, though they span thousands are worthwhile.
